Greene County Schools ANNOUNCE Kindergarten Registration process for 2020-2021 school year

Greene County Schools will begin the process of kindergarten registration on March 2nd.  The registration process will require the child to be present and you will need bring your child to the school for a brief assessment of kindergarten readiness. 

Parents will need to call the school of expected enrollment between Monday, March 2nd and Friday, March 13th to schedule an appointment for the registration process. For students entering Mosheim please call 423-422-4123. This is only for students not currently enrolled in PreK in Greene County.

Each appointment will take about 20 minutes for students to complete a brief assessment and for parents to complete necessary paperwork.  Each school will set the appointments for the screening and will have a parent night (before school is out) to discuss potential summer opportunities for your child. 

Children must be five-years old on or before August 15, 2020, to qualify for Kindergarten. (pending proposed legislation) Please contact the school or central office if you have questions. 

 

ITEMS NEEDED

To apply for Kindergarten enrollment, parents should provide a copy of their child’s birth certificate, social security card, and immunization/health record on the most recent form, which may be obtained from a doctor or the health department.

 

STEPS FOR COMPLETION

Call the school to schedule an appointment

Bring the following items to the appointment:

Your CHILD

Birth Certificate

Current immunizations on current TN health form

Social Security Card

 Attend parent meeting (scheduled by school)
