Welcome
I'm Beth Lockhart, and I teach K-5 art at Mosheim and McDonald schools. The kids call me Ms. Beth. I love creating art and helping students on their own creative journey. Oil painting and pine needle basketry are my favorite art forms. I have a daughter, Ava, who was also my student, and she loves creating things as well.
In art class the students learn about the elements and principles of design and how to use various art media like paint and collage. Students also learn about art history, modern art, and art from around the world. Studying art helps us understand our world, ourselves, and each other. Art is not just beautiful and interesting, but also a universal visual language. Students practice problem solving, fine motor skills, and practical life skills in art class. I absolutely love helping students to gain confidence in themselves through art and helping them find their own unique creative spark!
